We are heartbroken to announce the death of our mother, Shirley A. McVey-Miller. She died on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at 9:15 a.m. at Baxter Regional Hospital in Mountain Home, Arkansas. She died of acute respiratory failure. She was born on September 28, 1943 in Springfield, Missouri to William McVey of Oxford, Arkansas and Virginia Oldfield of Wiseman, Arkansas. She passed away peacefully at the age of 80 surrounded by friends and family.
Our mom was a born again Christian who loved to read the Bible, listen to gospel music and prayed to God daily. She loved her home and her family. She loved to cook for her family especially during the holidays. When she had spare time, she loved to watch Hallmark movies and Fox News.
Shirley leaves behind 3 sons, David, Daniel and John Carey; 2 granddaughters, Ashley Carey Wren and Dallas Carey and one niece, Suzanne Crossley.
Our Mom will be sadly missed and will always hold a place in our hearts.

I love you mom and will miss you deeply. We have been busy doing all of the things you taught us do when you died. My heart is broken but through time and Gods strength I will tary on without you. One sweet day we will reunite in heaven and what a glorious day that will be. So until that day, Keep worshiping and praising the Lord up there while we do that down here. Love you always.
Mom, we'll miss you more than words can say. You've been my best friend for 48 years and I'll have to find my way without you. You've taught me how to live and how to love and I'll be forever grateful. See you at the house Mom.
Love, Dan
