of Conway, AR
September 29, 1942 - January 20, 2024
Carolyn Sue Golden, age 81, of Conway, Arkansas passed from this life on Saturday, January 20th, 2024 at Baptist Health in Conway, Arkansas. She was born in Marshall, Arkansas on September 29th, 1942 to Bertie Lloyd Gregg and Erwin Lucille McCasland Gregg.
Carolyn was of the Baptist faith. She was a Preschool Sunday School teacher for many years. She had a great empathy and love for children and teaching them about her Lord brought her much joy. She delighted in sharing all the funny stories of what this one said or that one did, or their often funny and very detailed prayer requests. She worked in the lumber business from the age of 18 until retirement, starting out as a receptionist for Arkmo Keys Lumbers Company and ending her career as Secretary Treasurer for One Source Lumber Company. Carolyn loved gardening, especially growing flowers. She had a true green thumb and beautiful blooming plants and hearty vegetables were the results of her labors. She also loved shopping for fashion or sewing her own. In her younger years she made many of her own suits and work clothes as well as clothes for her daughter. One of her favorite pastimes was reading, an avid lifelong learner, she was never far from a book of some sort, her Bible and Bible study materials or books for the pure enjoyment of reading were always within reach. Even more than these pastimes, her greatest loves were her faith, family and friends. If you were ever blessed enough to be adopted into her loving, caring circle, you were blessed indeed. She adored family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved to tease and laugh, especially with co-workers. She had a heart for people, especially those that were sick, alone, or in need of help. She had a very special way of caring for others or helping them without making them feel as if it were charity or loss of dignity.
Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Babb (Dennis) of Conway; step-children, Susan Yarberry (Daryle) of Sherwood and Tommy Golden of North Little Rock; grandchildren, David Babb (Melissa) of Conway and Kelli Crain (Erik) also of Conway; step-grandchildren, Aaron Dollar of Traskwood, Lindsay Badger of Sherwood and Tim Golden (Amanda) of Mayflower; great-grandchildren, Micah Babb, Chloe Babb, Lucy Crain and Lily Crain; step great-grandchildren, Isabella Robertson, Mason Dollar, Mila Badger, Willow Golden and Colton Golden; sisters, Linda Williams (Tom) of Mountain View and Katie Ragland (Cliff) of Leslie; beloved nephews, Chris Williams (Michelle) of Omaha and Todd Ragland (Michelle) of Leslie and many extended family members who will also mourn her passing.
