of Searcy, AR
March 19, 1929 - January 16, 2024
Betty L. Ferguson passed away Jan. 16, 2024 at Unity Health-Searcy Medical Center. She was 94.
Betty was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who took great pride in her family. She had a radiant smile and was a devout Christian with an unwavering faith. Before every Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner, Betty led her family in prayers of thanks, often growing tearful in her gratitude.
She was born on March 19, 1929 in West Helena and was married to her beloved husband, Billy Gene Ferguson, for nearly 50 years. They doted on their only child, Patricia, who Betty lovingly called ''Trishie.''
Betty was ''Mamal'' to her granddaughters, Andrea and Lori, who spent many a weekend and summer with her and Bill at their place in rural Lee County. She loved playing cards and games, especially the Marble Game, a board game that Bill created.
After Bill passed away in 1996, Betty moved to Searcy to be closer to Trishie and became a tireless volunteer at White County Medical Center.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Norene and Ethan Elmer Allen and her siblings, Gene Allen and Francis Weeks.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Akers and son-in-law, Dan Akers; granddaughters, Andrea Cummings and Lori Clancy; great grandchildren, Garrett Haley, Danielle Haley and William Clancy and great-great grandchildren, Briar Haley, Benjamin Clancy and Gianna Clancy.
Betty's family would like to thank Unity Health and Arkansas Hospice for the outstanding care they provided her.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23rd at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home, 411 East Race St., Searcy with committal to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in West Helena.

We loved Ms. Betty dearly! We lived at Providence for a time and that is where we became close. We went by to see her and it was always a wonderful visit. She had been telling me for awhile it would not be long before she went to meet Jesus! We will miss that precious smile! We love you!

Patricia, I’m so very sorry, to hear of your Mother passing away.
I remember you, & your Mom & Dad, when they were members, of the Second Baptist Church, in West Helena many years ago. Bro. Paul Pearson was the Pastor, when I was a young girl, & your Dad lead the music.
A few years ago, I visited with your Mom, while at the Lightle Center in Searcy. We enjoyed visiting with one another, after so many years.
She was a very sweet lady.
My Deepest Sympathy, to you & your family members.
My thoughts & prayers are with you all.
Sincerely,
L. Diane (Fulgham) Hopkins
