of Harrison, AR
December 17, 1937 - January 9, 2024
Barbara Mason, age 86, of Harrison, went to be with her Lord Jesus on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2024, at Hillcrest Home in Harrison. She was born Dec. 17, 1937, in Batesville, the daughter of Leonard Kindall and Mentia (Goss) Kindall.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Edward and James ''Bud'' Kindall.
After graduating from Harrison High School, she worked at Clark and Eoff Furniture Store. Her time there included the 1961 Crooked Creek flood. She remembers her father taking the family to view the flood, telling them they'd never see this in Harrison again.
Afterward, she was employed at State Farm Insurance until her retirement almost 30 years later, having worked for Elmer Adams, Ray Bernard, and Vikki Hudson. Her time there was marked by providing excellent customer service for all her insureds and was well-liked and respected by her co-workers. After retirement, she had time to indulge her love of reading, walking, taking trips with her daughter and friends, and taking care of her ''fur babies.''
She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Harrison. Her service included volunteering in the nursery, Sunday School, Upwards Basketball, the Recreational Outreach Center (ROC), and as a greeter on Sunday mornings.
Her quiet, humble, Christian manner was a beautiful reflection of her Savior Jesus Christ. She will be missed by all who knew her.
A special thanks to all those who helped provide her with excellent, loving care in 2023 and 2024; Superior Senior Care; Area Agency on Aging; Hillcrest Home; NARMC's Home Health department; Ambulance and ER staff; Harrison Fire Department; Cornerstone Medical Clinic; First Baptist Church; Lakeland Baptist Church and her many friends who provided prayer support, as well as being Jesus' hands and feet.
She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Mason, of Harrison; her cousin, Charles Ray of Little Rock, AR; her nieces, Paula Kindall, of Jacksonville, AR, and Tami Kindall, of Sumter, SC; and her nephew, Len Kindall, of Maumelle, AR.
Memorial Service was held at First Baptist Church in Harrison, AR.
Memorials may be made to The Billy Graham Evangelical Association, 1 Billy Graham Pkwy, Charlotte, NC 28217, The Gideons International, P.O. Box 97251, Washington, DC 20090, and Tetelestai House, 23162 Old U.S. Hwy 65, Omaha, AR 72662.
