James Edward ''Mann'' Priest of Cash passed away at his residence on Thursday, December 28, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was born October 5, 1934 to Howard and Ruth (Simmons) Priest in Cash and was one of seven children. In his early life Mann began farming with his dad in Risher and later with his son, Barry at the Estico Farm. After his farming career ended, he dedicated 20 years of service with Craighead County Highway Department, driving the road grader and making sure his route had the finest graded roads you'd ever seen. He took pride in his work and was often complimented and requested to do the task. During his tenure at the highway department, he took up yard mowing in the Cash community. It was nothing unusual to see him hauling his John Deere mowers around town and sticking a thumbs up or a big wave out the window as he passed by. Mann was of the Christian faith and attended the Cash Assembly of God Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, John L Priest, Riley Priest, Leon Priest and sisters, Juanita Bryant, Mary Ashford and Helen Pate.
He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Joann Priest; children, Barry (LeeAnn) Priest, Pam (Jim) Woodard, Jackie (Charles) Smythe and Devan Priest; 3 grandchildren, Jill (Blake) Dement, Nathan Tate, Sarah (Hayden) Ellis and a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be Wednesday, January 3, 2023 at 2:00pm at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 W. Washington Ave, Jonesboro with Ryan Lloyd and Steve Mabry officiating. Burial will be at Redd Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12 noon until time of service.
Pallbearers will be Dexter Priest, Gary Priest, Lester Priest, Tim Priest, Michael Bryant, Scotty Pate, Keith Guffey and Scotty Gibson. Honorary pallbearers will be Andy Reid, Anthony Bryant, Mark Priest, Lowell Tanksley, Blane Thetford, Jack Thetford, Larry Farley, Bo Gossage, Johnny Baxter, Dewayne Martin and Kory Gibson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Redd Cemetery and Cash Assembly of God Church.

Mann was always part of the fabric of our family growing up. You could count on him anytime my family was facing a crises, offering a warm and loving presence. I loved his kind, generous and gentle spirit. Even on our worst days, Mann would make you smile. He will be greatly missed.
