Gary ''Big Mac'' McDaniel, age 69, of Marshall, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, December 27th, 2023 at his home. He was born in Marshall, Arkansas on October 12th, 1954 to Thomas F. McDaniel and Verna Mae Smith McDaniel.
Gary accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized in the spring of 1978 while attending the First Christian Church. He graduated from Marshall High School in 1973. Shortly afterwards he joined the United States Army where he served as a truck driver in Germany. He worked as a drywall hanger for most of his adult life.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Debbie McDaniel; children, JaNae McDaniel (Robbie) of Marshall and Jason McDaniel of Chapel Hill, NC; stepsons, Michael Blackwell and Cody Baysinger (Ashley) both of Marshall; grandchildren, Emma Rowe, Riley Infante (Aldrich), Connor Baysinger, Halen Baysinger and Sophia Blackwell; great-grandson, Luka Infante; a twin brother, Larry McDaniel (Vonda) of Russellville; sister, Phyllis Horton (Jimmy) of Malvern; uncles, Woody Smith of Marshall, Jackie Smith of Berryville; aunt, Maxine Turano of CA; sisters-in-law, Linda Smith of Lee Summit, MO and Ella Lee Smith of Marshall and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Gary is preceded in death by his mother and father, Thomas and Verna Mae McDaniel; a younger sister, Pamela McDaniel; uncles, Don Smith, Douglas Smith, Pete Smith, TM Smith and Buck Smith and aunts, Demoia Knowles, Geraldine Ragland, Hazel Blair and Modene Nimmick.
The family would like to offer a special recognition to all the people Gary has worked with and all of the friends he loved to hang out with. He will be remembered by so many.
