Gary Lynn Rathjen, 84, of Clarksville died Sunday, December 17, 2023 in Sherwood. He was born November 22, 1939 in Waterloo, Iowa to Lynn Ambrose and Katherine Arlene (Mathers) Rathjen. Gary was deeply devoted to his family. He was especially fond of watching his grandsons play sports. Gary enjoyed sail-boating and often spoke of his earlier years living on his own boat. In his later years, he traveled all over the United States, Mexico and Canada with his wife, Sandy. Gary also loved horseraces and hunting.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lynn and Katherine Rathjen.
Gary is survived by his beloved wife, Sandy Rathjen; one daughter, Heather Snellings and husband, Brent; two grandsons, Chase and Corbin and numerous other family and friends.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
