Wanda McGaha Hartwick, 83, of Batesville passed away Saturday, December 9, 2023.
She was born November 15, 1940 in Batesville, Arkansas to Ruel Baxter McGaha and Villa Stroud McGaha.
Wanda was an active and loved member of Desha First Baptist Church and she also led Bible Class at Mountain Meadows Nursing Home. She was a graduate of Batesville High School and then went on to attend Arkansas College where she studied Art. She was very caring and tender hearted, outgoing, extremely intelligent, very straight forward and never pulled any punches. Wanda loved knitting, crocheting, drawing and traveling out West in the RV.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, David Hartwick of the home; son, Billy D Miller of Batesville; step-son, Jon (Martha) Hartwick of Tustin, California; sister, Betty Gold of Batesville; four grandchildren, Amanda Hartwick, Emma Hartwick, Kate Hartwick and Jenna Hartwick and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Reba Lemon.
Pallbearers are Ronnie Gold, Tommy Taylor, Kenny Turner, Frank McGaha, Jon Hartwick and Willie Allen. Honorary pallbearers will be William McGaha, Dr. Caleb Oster, David Hidy and Administrative Staff and Caregivers of Mountain Meadows Nursing Home.
Funeral services will begin at 2:00pm Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home with Josh Swinea officiating. Burial will follow at Lee's Chapel Cemetery in Sandtown.
Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00pm Wednesday, December 13, 2023 just prior to service at the funeral home.
