Ranel Dathen Lavon Honeycutt, age 79, of Searcy, Arkansas passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023. He was born on Sunday, May 7, 1944 in Forrest City, Arkansas to the late Ranel Ray Honeycutt and Dema Tilley. Ranel served in the Army as a E-7 Sergeant First Class until he retired. He graduated college with his bachelor's degree. Ranel enjoyed going hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his four sons, Ranel Honeycutt, Jr. (Mary), Richard Alan Honeycutt, James Christopher Honeycutt and Christopher Allen Honeycutt (Ashley); one daughter, Haley Michelle Honeycutt Sears (Matthew); seven grandchildren, Travis Honeycutt (Erica), Brittney Honeycutt, Tyler Honeycutt, Hudson Honeycutt, Sophia Sears, Caroline Sears and Sawyer Sears; two brothers, Elijah Honeycutt and Daniel Honeycutt and one sister, Lois Honeycutt.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ranel Ray Honeycutt and Dema Tilley; wife, Linda Honeycutt; five brothers, Richard Ray Honeycutt, Drury Lon Honeycutt, Winston Honeycutt, Ronald Dewayne Honeycutt and Emaniel Honeycutt; one sister, Deanna Honeycutt and one grandson, Landon Honeycutt.
A funeral service for Ranel Dathen Lavon Honeycutt will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home Chapel in West Helena, Arkansas. A visitation will be held prior at 10:00 a.m. Brother Tom Swan and Brother Chris Swan will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in West Helena, Arkansas.
Pallbearers will be James Honeycutt, Richard Honeycutt, Christopher Honeycutt, Ranel Honeycutt Jr., Tyler Honeycutt and Travis Honeycutt.
Honorary Pallbearer will be Matthew Sears.
