Orville Elumbaugh, 94, of Batesville passed away Friday, December 1, 2023.
He was born May 1, 1929 in Jamestown to John Elumbaugh and Nora Gould Elumbaugh.
Orville was a hard worker who loved to work on the farm, building roads, cutting wood and hauling with his 1 ton dump truck. He worked as a truck driver for the Arkansas Highway Department for 28 years. Orville and his wife, Alice, were married for 74 years. He loved to spend time with his family, listen to Johnny Cash songs, deer hunt and loved to have fish fry's while spending time on Greers Ferry Lake.
Survivors include his wife, whom he married July 20, 1949, Alice Cullins Elumbaugh of the home; one son, Rick Elumbaugh (Margaret); one daughter, Marilyn Brewer (LeeRoy) of Batesville; one sister, Jerri Thompson of California; four grandchildren, Rusty Elumbaugh (CJ), Maisie Eaton (Carter), Kenny Seaman (Susan), Dr. Allison Jones (Dan); four great-grandchildren, Ryder Elumbaugh, Rixson Elumbaugh, Jake Seaman, Bryant Jones; as well as several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ted, Ladell and Billy Elumbaugh and sisters, Evelyn Floyd, Wanda Jeffery and Eva Rosario.
Pallbearers are Kenny Seaman, Jake Seaman, Rusty Elumbaugh, Ryder Elumbaugh, Rixson Elumbaugh, Dan Jones and Steve Cullins. Honorary pallbearers are Arthur Montgomery, Andy Montgomery, Lackey Moody, Johnny McMullin, Shawn Drake and Joe Elumbaugh.
There will be a private visitation and graveside service.
The family would like to give special thanks to Arkansas Hospice and Gentiva Hospice and the caregivers, Debbie Wood Neeley, Deborah Halcomb, Rosa Farmer, Linda Mayfield, Marianna Gingerich and Linda Clem.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to White River Wonderland Light Display, City of Batesville, 500 E. Main St, Batesville, AR 72501.

Alice, Rick, Marilyn, and family I am sorry for your loss. I lived in Batesville for over twenty years and considered Orville and Alice good friends. Orville and I did a lot of things together, fishing, hunting, going to the lake. He was a good man, hard worker and quick to help you out. He will be missed.
