Gladys Smithson Hollihan, 96, of Batesville passed away November 28, 2023.
She was born February 10, 1927 in Lepanto to Albert Teague and Mildred Teague Deckelman.
Gladys was the best mother and grandmother, always selfless and putting others first. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed being with her family. In her free time, she enjoyed going dancing, going on cruises and traveling. In her younger years, she was a waitress and then worked in food service at Baptist Memorial Hospital in North Little Rock for 20 years.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Hobbs of Batesville; one brother, Albert Teague, Jr. (Frances) of Kansas City, Missouri; two sisters, Carolyn Montgomery of Batesville, Kay Jenkerson of Kansas City, Missouri; one grandchild, Aaron Hobbs; two great-grandchildren, Kaitlin and Cara Hobbs and several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert G. Smithson, one brother, Billy Wayne Teague, and two sisters, Evelyn Penter and Lorene Lansdale.
Graveside services will be held Friday, December 1, 2023 at 2:00pm Barnes Cemetery with Larry Sellers officiating.
A visitation will be held Friday from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at the Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Batesville just prior to the service.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105.
