Janet Marie Hooten, 77, of Clinton was born on June 25, 1946 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Clarence and Bertha (Gordon) Johnson and passed from this life on November 22, 2023 in Conway, Arkansas. She was of the Pentecostal faith.

Ernie and Janet lived in Little Rock and purchased the Culpepper Community Building property in 1965. In 1976 they moved to Culpepper and established their home. Janet enjoyed her family gatherings. She loved her children and precious puppies. Janet enjoyed traveling and visiting her parents and siblings. She was skilled at embroidery and left many memorable handmade afghans, lace and craft items for her children to enjoy.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Ernie Loyd Hooten.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Joseph Loyd Hooten of Clinton, Donna Jean Taylor of Flippin, Tommy Earl Hooten of Conway; three grandchildren, Joseph Hooten, Jr of Wooster, Kristi Harder of Flippin, Karrie Hart of Flippin; one great grandchild; other relatives and many friends.

Janet spent her last months in Conway at an assisted living facility. The family appreciates the care she received and are thankful for the friends and family who so lovingly visited her home.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at the Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Clinton. Interment will follow at Culpepper Cemetery.
