December 21, 1953 - November 20, 2023

Mrs. Laura Waters, 69, of Mountain Home, Arkansas passed away on Monday, November 20, 2023 at her home. She was born to Judge Paul and Dorothy (Williams) Snead on December 21, 1953 in Roswell, New Mexico.
Laura earned her Bachelor's degree at Southeastern Oklahoma University and her Master's degree at Northern Arizona University. Her passion for education led her to teach music on the Navajo and Hopi Reservation for over 30 years, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of many.
She was a devoted member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, where she actively participated as a choir member and organ player. Laura was also involved in various organizations, including P.E.O. and the Symphony in Durango, Colorado and Roswell, New Mexico. Her dedication extended to being a passionate advocate for C.A.S.A.
Laura enjoyed spending her free time working on puzzles, reading, cheering for The Dallas Cowboys and supporting the Mountain Home Bomber Volleyball team.
She is survived by her loving husband, John Waters, whom she shared 25 years of marriage with. Laura is also survived by her stepson, John A. Waters and his wife, Laurie; along with five cherished granddaughters, Kerstyn, Abbigail, Jaidyn, Emma and Liberty. Additionally, she is survived by her brother, Ed Snead and her sister, Susan Zimmer.
Mrs. Laura Waters was preceded in death by her parents.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to C.A.S.A. in Laura's memory.

Laura will certainly be missed. I had the pleasure of knowing Laura for many years as we went to school together in Roswell and graduated from Goddard together in 1971.
Amazing lady and always had a smile on her face!
Praying for her family.

My deep condolences to Laura's family and friends. I attended school for many years in Roswell, NM, with Laura. I don't think I've ever met anyone who was so genuinely kindhearted. What a smile! What a brain! What a talent! May your fond memories of Laura keep her forever in your hearts. Blessings to you all.

What a warm and loving person. I attended high school with Laura and she always treated me like a good friend. This was unusual for me as I was way way in the background. So kind and caring always concerned for others. Thank you Laura I will be looking for you when I get there.
