of Clinton, AR
December 6, 1944 - November 17, 2023
Edd Ridings, 78, of Clinton went to be with Jesus on Friday, November 17, 2023 in Clinton, Arkansas. He was born on December 6, 1944 in North Little Rock to the late Earl and Mary Ridings. He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Norman Holcomb, Willie Holcomb, Kenneth Holcomb and son-in-law, Joseph Matthew Cartner.
Edd was enlisted in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged. What he enjoyed most was being surrounded by the beautiful outdoors. The most precious thing to him was his family. Edd married Verl Dean Page of Crabtree, Arkansas on July 25, 1967. They met in North Little Rock at Dee's duplex. She needed her water turned on and knocked on her neighbor's door. Carolyn said her brother (Edd) could turn it on, since he was outside. Dee came up to him while he was laying down turning the water on and Dee asked, ''You got that water turned on yet?'' Edd said, ''How can I with all these legs around me?'' Then their love story began. He was truly a one-of-a-kind man. To know Edd was to love him. Everyone knew when Edd walked into a room. He always knew how to make everyone laugh and feel loved. Trying to sum up Edd in a few words is nearly impossible. He loved the Lord and talked about Him any chance he got. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, creative crafts, wood working and watching football. He was a member of Clinton First Baptist Church.
Edd is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dee Ridings; three children, Terrell (Barbara) Feist, Kelly (Gayla) Feist and Aalesha Cartner; siblings, David (Carla) Ridings, Carolyn (Randy) Housley, JoAnn Holcomb, Jane Holcomb; six grandchildren, Callie (Allan) Brazzell, Chris (Kathy) Mapes, Anna (Mike) Garcia, Royce Daugherty, Holli Daughterty, Mattie (Dylan) Hayford; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; along with many other family and friends. Edd would have ended this with an old fashioned ''YUP''!
A visitation will be on Monday, November 20, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Clinton, Arkansas with funeral services following at 2:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will be at Crabtree Cemetery. Pallbearers are George Allen Holcomb, George Allen Holcomb, Jr., Lewis Puckett, Shane Daugherty, Brad Freeman and Wesley Potts.

You will be deeply missed Mr Ed. You married me and Shawn our SR year. I love you Aaelisha
A family man, father, husband, Christian, caring, funny, and loving man to mention a few things. He was a friend to me and the head of a family in responsibility and affection. I respected Edd but otherwise we couldn't have been any much more different. It was funny but we got along (even if I was ex-Navy and an officer). I loved to see him light up talking about "his girls" and his fishing and hunting when I would drop by with biscuits and gravy or goodies. He showed off his knife collection too - which at first I wasn't sure how to take. LOL! I hated to see him suffering through a series of illnesses and health issues over the last few years. I think it must have been really hard for Edd as a figure of strength for his family and outdoor living. God works in his own way and Edd understood that. He told me a story of meeting an angel once and was confused and angry before he finally figured out after his visitor had disappeared what had actually happened. He changed forever in his own words. He wanted to share it with me and did. He was a true believer - not a perfect man but a blessed one.
Praying for your family. Edd was always making jokes and keeping everyone laughing. Enjoyed being at his place when visiting with Stephanie and Royce.

Dee, Aalesha, Mattie and family,
We are so sorry for your loss. Edd was definitely one of those people that will always be remembered and loved. He always had a smile for everyone and everything and always spoke to you anytime he saw you, even if he had to "run you down" to say hi. He always called Marsha his favorite Martian (and sometimes Marshmellow). Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this very difficult time. We just pray that God will give you the peace and understanding that you need right now. We know that Edd will be missed by all that knew him. We love y'all so much.
