of Marvell, AR
May 13, 1929 - November 11, 2023
Donna Jo Culp of Marvell, AR, better known to the family and friends as Baby Jo, and to her adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren as Mama Jo, passed away on November, 11, 2023, after a brief illness.
Baby Jo entered this world on May 13, 1929, as a twin daughter of J.O. Bonner and Annie Bryant Bonner of Turner, AR. Weighing just at 2 pounds she was placed in a crib fashioned from a shoebox and was laid on top of the wood stove as an incubator. With the other twin not surviving, the doctor pronounced, if she lives through the night, she?ll probably survive. And Baby Jo Culp did live and thrive for 94 years! Her first love was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her family enjoyed delicious home cooked meals and wonderful baked goods. Her cornbread dressing and chocolate pie will be missed. Her second love was the farm. For years she took an active role in farming, running errands, picking up parts, taking lunches to the field. Evan when she could no longer participate, not a day went by that she didn?t ask what the men were doing, what field they were in, what was the weather going to be like that day.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughters, Donna Jo Culp Rohrscheid (Jaybock), of Lexa, AR, Karen Sue Culp Walls, of Collierville, TN, and son, Allen Culp (Pam), of Marvell, AR. She also leaves behind her four grandchildren, Danette Walker, of Lexa, AR, Blake Culp , of Marvell, AR, Neil Culp (Jill) of Marvell and Nicole Walls, of Colliervile, TN, and eight great-grandchild: Casey, Camille, Ashlyn, Emily, Addison, Holden, Bella, and Sylar.
The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to Mrs. Culp?s caregivers, Gert Thomas, Earnestine Banks, Tameka Young, and Bertha Young, which allowed her to stay in her home until her last days.
Preceeding her in death: her husband, Buford Culp, a son, Troy Edward Culp, granddaughter, Christy Walker, and great-grandson, Carson Walker.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, 12:30 P.M., at Eventide Cemetery in Marvell, AR, followed by a visitation at Marvell First Baptist Church fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorials be given to Marvell Eventide Cemetery in care of Joe Kemmer, P.O. Box 205 Marvell, AR 72366.
