Peggy June Turney, age 90, of Harrison, passed away on Thursday, October 26 (2023), at Hillcrest Home with her family by her side. She was born on July 2, 1933, in McCrory to Richard Eugene and Jewel Inez Fowler Mauldin.

Peggy was a member of the United Methodist Church. In her early years, she worked at banks and credit bureaus in Memphis, Tennessee. She took pride in raising her children and loved gardening, sewing, fishing, and spending time with family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, William R. Turney; her mother, Jewel: her father, Eugene and her brother, Lynn Mauldin.

Peggy is survived by her five daughters, Sheila Duch of Hot Springs, Debbie Lane of Harrison, Melinda Tooley of New Castle, Indiana, Leisa Horne of Harrison, and Dena Smith of Harrison; two sons: Bill Turney of Harrison and Steve Turney of Harrison; brother, Frank Mauldin of McCrory; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.


Visitation was on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at the funeral home.

The funeral service was Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home with Randy Tooley officiating.

Honorary pallbearers were John Horne, Gary Duch, and Leon Lane.
