Charlotte Dale Fiser

of Little Rock, AR

February 27, 1943 - September 7, 2023

Charlotte Dale Fiser was born on February 27, 1943 to Charley and Alice Dale in Hickory Ridge, AR and passed away at her home in Little Rock on September 7, 2023. Her childhood was simple, growing up on a farm in Fisher, AR and always accompanied by her older sister, Margaret. They made it a priority to explore nearly every state on adventurous road trips with her family. She was top of her class, a dominant competitor on the basketball court and an avid water skier. She attended Hendrix College where she met Robert (Bob) Fiser her freshman year. He was so smitten by her charm, beauty and intellect that he knew he had to act quickly before he started medical school the next year. They were married on August 19, 1962 (until his untimely death almost 50 years later) and moved to Little Rock, where she finished her BA degree in Elementary Education at Little Rock University (UALR). During her time in Little Rock, she taught at Mabelvale Elementary. Once Bob graduated, they moved to Fort Detrick, Maryland, then El Paso, TX and finally Los Angeles, CA. It was there Charlotte and Bob started their family with two boys, their pride and joy. After Bob finished his training at UCLA, she was delighted that he accepted a position in the UAMS Department of Pediatrics so the country girl could be back home and closer to family to raise their young sons. They quickly became a dynamic team who enjoyed growing the pediatric department of Arkansas Children's Hospital. She spent countless years recruiting and volunteering with the ACH Auxiliary. They often hosted visiting faculty in their home, with Charlotte hurrying to change the sheets in between a recruit and a visiting professor! She was blessed with the ability to make everyone feel welcome and at home. As a mother of two young children, she had already learned multitasking and set the bar high for future women rearing a family, supporting her husband's career and finding time to pursue her own interests. She juggled hundreds of athletic events and ball games for her boys, as well as remained social and active in her competitive tennis league.

After the boys were grown, Charlotte went back to her passion of teaching at Baker Elementary before retiring and becoming an antiques and collectibles treasure hunter. Charlotte had a creative, artistic knack for home decor and could always find a treasure in the hunt that she could turn into a feature item at her antique booth.

Charlotte was the true North of the family, a steadfast rock with a level head and a compassionate heart. Her family, church and friends were the most important things in her life and where she invested her time and energy. Her selfless soul, warm heart and compassion for people enabled her to be the ultimate caregiver for the special people in her life. Without ever complaining, she did this with grace, humility, dignity and unconditional love. The only thing better than being "Mom" was being "Char Char" to her 5 grandchildren, who she adored and cherished as the true treasures of her life.

Charlotte was a longtime member of Saint James UMC where she enjoyed her Sunday School class, Bible Study and other activities. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband and brother-in-law, Calvin Wilkins. She is survived by her children, Robb Fiser of Sugar Land, Texas and Chuck Fiser (Anita) of Little Rock and grandchildren, Lilly and Hill Fiser of Texas and Avery, Charlie, Andrew Fiser of Little Rock; her sister, Margaret Wilkins and nephews, Dale, Thomas and Louis Wilkins, as well as brother-in-law, Paul Fiser (Gayle).

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 12 from 5-7 pm. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 13 at 10 am. Both will be held at St. James United Methodist Church, 321 Pleasant Valley Drive, Little Rock. Memorials may be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital at www.archildrens.org/give

The service will be live-streamed at https://stjameslr.online.church/

Robb and Chuck,
We were heartbroken to hear of your Mom's passing; she was a gracious and kind lady with such a beautiful smile. What a wonderful legacy Charlotte leaves for all who knew her... so loving with such a sweet, sweet spirit. She touched the lives of many with her selfless service through the years. Norma and I fondly remember our time as neighbors in Pleasant Valley (for four decades). She always brightened our day, whether in the office with Margaret and Mrs. Dale or around the neighborhood. It seems like just yesterday that Bryant babysat two rambunctious young boys for your Mom and Dad. Truly, life is but a vapor, like a wisp of wind… In this time of great sadness, however, we know that your grief is tempered by the assurance that your Mom is in Heaven, reveling in its glory with your Dad and other family members who preceded them in faith. AND WE KNOW, we also will see them again one day. Oh what a Savior that gives us this most blessed of assurances.

My deepest condolences to Robb, Chuck and the extended families and friends of Charlotte. I was so saddened by the news of her passing. She made an indelible mark on my Little Rock memories. She is a one-of-a-kind, truly loving and selfless soul. I recall so much laughter and fun when Charlotte was in the room! She was incredibly generous and always overpaid me for my babysitting nights or would tip me $20 dollars on a $5 dollar pizza bill (!) when I was making 0.95/hr waiting tables at Ken’s Pizza. And let’s just say that riding in a car Charlotte was driving was an adventure in ‘how not to apply the brakes!’, but she always got me home safely after those babysitting nights. I remember these times with the fondest of memories.
She was a treasure and the sun shines a little less brightly without her graceful presence. Sending much love at this difficult time.

Charlotte was my all time favourite. She was always the kindest, warmest person and made me feel like her own child. I spent every year for one week while my parent's holidayed at the Fiser's house and Charlotte always made our time together special. She would take me to dinner and movies and the kids would play Atari while she made wonderful meals and we all ate together. I treasured my time with Charlotte and the Fisers. She was such a gracious hostess, making every person she met feel special and welcomed.
Charlotte made the special effort to travel to Canada for my wedding in 2001 which is sadly the last time I saw her. What an elegant, kind and loving soul. I am sorry for Rob and Chuck and their family's sudden loss. I am sure she will be sorely missed. All my love to you.

We moved to Little Rock from Toronto, Canada in 1975. Charlotte and Bob were the first people we knew. Charlotte was the epitome of Southern charm and hospitality. We were made to feel right at home and Charlotte made the transition easy. If we went away she had our daughter, Adrienne, stay with she and Bob. She even introduced Adrienne to "Chucky Cheese" which she never got at home! We kept in touch over the years and had occasional visits. I can only say how much I valued our friendship. We have lost a beautiful, lovely lady both in body and soul. Thank you Charlotte for always being there. I join the many who will miss you dearly. Love, Jacquie

Mrs Fiser was my 6th grade teacher the first year she taught at Mabelvale Elementary School. She was not only my “ favorite teacher” but an example of the woman I admired by her kindness, intellect, empathy and style! What a great example she was for young girls. Prayers for her family.

Charolette and I were educators at Baker Elementary. She was gifted teacher who enjoyed challenging her students as well as herself. I could always count on Charolette’s quiet strength and wisdom. She was a joy to be around!
Later after we both retired from education, we reconnected when our mothers became good friends at Parkstone.

Charlotte was my wife Jennie’s best friend from 1978 to September 19th, 2022 when Jennie died. They ran the antique shop together until we moved to New Orleans in 1991. They continued their close relationship and talked on the phone at least weekly and visited frequently until last year. I’m sure they are back antiquing together again and I look forward to being with both of them.
Bob was my chairman but I was also recruited by Charlotte via Jennie because they so rapidly developed a warm and binding relationship. We quickly learned that Arkansas was the place for us to work and raise our children.
Thank you Charlotte.

What a beautiful legacy Char Char leaves for her children and grandchildren. They always say apples don’t fall far from trees, and and the Fiser boys, Anita and grands exemplify that adage to the fullest!! A life well lived and an example for all. Although, there is no doubt Char Char is restored and already getting the golden streets of heaven more organized and efficient..our hearts break for her family. We love you very much!!

Charlotte was the quintessential Southern woman. Always gracious, smiling, & loved to laugh. That was my goal every time I saw her, making her laugh. She had excellent taste in home furnishings and I felt honored when she would ask my opinion of something she had purchased.
I will miss her smile and wit but am pleased I that I got to know her and be around her.
Charlotte, thanks for being the best at everything!

As youngest Chair of Pediatrics in the country, your dad and my late husband, Larry Milne (youngest Pharmacy College Dean in the U.S.) shared a special kinship. Bob was the first person to come to Larry’s office to welcome him to UAMS. Neither of them will ever be forgotten.

I came to know Charlotte even better as owner of Antique Gallery where she was a joy to all. We visited often, sharing happy memories and she was my rock when I lost my husband a year ago. I will always treasure her friendship. She was loyal, loving, kind, devoted to God and her family. She also had unerringly good taste and was a splendid addition to our business.

Charlotte always shared news of her family and loved all of you unconditionally. I think of her in Heaven now with her beloved husband but I also grieve with you.
