Tommy Lynn Daves

of Alexander, AR

May 28, 1957 - September 4, 2023

Tommy Lynn Daves, age 66, of Alexander, Arkansas, passed away on the 4th day of September, 2023. Tommy, known by most in his life as Lynn, was born on May 28, 1957 to Tom and Joy Daves in Little Rock, Arkansas.

As a teenager, Lynn found his love for motorcycles and working on small engines. He got his first job at a local motorcycle shop. If he wasn't at school or work, he was running the roads with the neighborhood guys on their motorcycles. He loved going fast. With high school in swing, the neighborhood crew was now on four wheels instead of two. Lynn's white Chevy Nova with the green vinyl top was a common sight around town, and he was always working to make it faster.

He graduated from Parkview High School in 1976. In the following years, he attended a local Vo-Tech school, got married, and by 1980 had his first child. By the beginning of 1985, his second child was in tow, and it was all work and raising kids. The 90s were filled with summers spent camping on Lake Ouachita with family, lots of weekend trips to Branson, and winters spent hunting and camping with family.

Lynn spent the next 20 years being Papaw to his grandkids, rekindling his love for motorcycles and planning trips on his bike whenever he could. He loved riding the national forest roads and seeing Arkansas' beauty firsthand, and he loved watching movies and shopping for auto parts from his LayZBoy recliner.

Lynn is preceded in death by his father, Tom Daves, and his mother, Joy Lewis. He is survived by his daughter Kimberlee Daves, her three children, Lydia, Mallory, and Colton, his son Andrew(Jessica) Daves and their children Riley and Khaleesi, and his sister Vicky (Ralph) Murphy and nephew Chris Krablin, Jr.

He is missed terribly, loved greatly, and will be held in our hearts and memories forever.

Funeral Services will be 2:00pm Wednesday, September 13, 2023 in the Chapel of Roller-Drummond Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 1:00pm with burial to follow in Pinecrest Memorial Park.
