Vera Laverne Parnell, of Brookland, AR known lovingly to her family and friends as "Max", passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at NEA Baptist Hospital at the age of 73. Max was born July 11, 1950 in Jonesboro, AR to James and Irene (Heavener) Holt. Max worked in customer service until retirement and loved to gamble, gardening, bowling and playing bingo. She was of the Baptist faith.

Max was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, James "Son" Holt, Robert Holt, Edna Holt, Ann Stevens and Betty McCallister; a sister-in-law, Sis Holt and a brother-in-law, Al Leggitt.

Those left behind to cherish the wonderful memories of Max include her daughters, Kim (Sheldon) Dorminey and Charlie Waddell; three grandchildren, Brooke Brown, Taylor Lilly and Montana Waddell; two brothers, Tommie Holt and Darrell (Charlene) Holt and two sisters, Charlie Albrough and Jake (Chris) Baker.

Graveside services will be 2 pm Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Pine Log Cemetery in Brookland, AR with Brother Dave White officiating.

No visitation is scheduled.
