Mrs. Verna Mae (Lance) Cockrum, 91, of Mountain Home, Arkansas passed away Friday, July 28, 2023 in Mountain Home. She was born on February 20, 1932 in Mountain Home to Jim and Bertha (Studdard) Lance. She was married to Willam Cockrum for 64 years and was a member of the Clarkridge Church of Christ. She was a very competitive lady who was full of energy. She loved playing bluegrass music, was an avid Chiefs fan and loved almost every other type of sport as well, which included softball, horseshoes, horseback riding and the list goes on. She loved her family. She even went as far as checking on them daily to make sure they were alright.
Verna is survived by 4 children, Linda Studdard, Glen Cockrum (Sheila), Gwen Maynard and Sherman Cockrum (Karen) and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; 1 son, William B. ''Bruce'' Cockrum; 2 brothers, Cleo Lance and Buck Lance and 6 sisters, Ethel Frazier, Bernice Rowden, Cora Jonas, Nellie Yoakum, Neomi Britt and Maxine Martin.
A visitation will be held between 6-8:00pm on Friday, August 4, 2023 at Roller Funeral Home. Funeral services will be a 2:00pm on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Roller Funeral Home with interment to follow at Quality Ridge Cemetery.
