Foy Horn

of Harrison, AR

August 17, 1939 - July 22, 2023

Foy Horn, age 83, went to his heavenly home on July 22, 2023. The son of Virgil and Nona (Henderson) Horn was born August 17, 1939 in Coin, Arkansas.

Foy was a member of the Northside Church of Christ. He graduated from Harrison High School in the class of 1957. He was a cattle farmer and ran several small businesses. Foy enjoyed having coffee with his friends in the morning or going to McDonald's after evening church services. He loved to be outdoors. He loved to help others and wanted to do odd jobs for people like haying, brush hogging, and hauling off things. He could often be seen on the road on his tractor going to a job. He was a hard worker and was known for being the last one out of the hay field, even though some of the workers were much stronger and younger than he was. Most of all he loved being with family, especially the grandchildren. He loved holidays, birthday parties, basketball games, and band concerts that his kids and grandchildren were a part of. In his last years, he just wanted to spend time with those he loved, talk to them, and hold their hand.

Foy was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley Horn; infant son, Gregory B. Horn and sister, Willa Mae Ingram.

Foy is survived by his children, son, Kevin Horn and (Tonia) of Sherwood, Arkansas; daughter, Linda Quiring and (Lyle) of Branson, Missouri; grandchildren, Katheryn Cole and (Christian), Emily Horn, Landon Quiring, and Logan Quiring and a host of friends that will miss him.

The funeral service was Thursday, July 27, 2023, at Northside Church of Christ with Steve Powers and Jason Hart officiating. Visitation was two hours prior.

Honorary pallbearers were Richard Collins, Herb Gibson, Morris Cooper, David Tomlinson, Raymond Stills, and his grandchildren.

The interment was at Maplewood Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Northside Church of Christ, 523 N. Walnut, Harrison, Arkansas 72601.

Foy was a good Christian man and was there every time the doors were open. He set a great example for both of you and your families. We know he will be greatly missed but that he is once again united with Shirley. God bless you all and give you strength during this difficult time. Love, Karen & Larry

We met Mr Foy at the feed store several years ago and happened to ask him if he knew of any hay available and became friends with him from that day on. He was such a great man and was so kind to us. God bless you all! We'll all be seeing him again when we get to heaven someday

We will miss this kind and loving man. His calming smile was always a comfort to everyone. Foy was always one of the first ones to greet you when you walked into the church building. He has left his thoughtful manner of being a helper and worker for the Lord on our hearts.
He blessed many lives.
Much love to Kevin and Linda and their families. Sam and Jo Alexander
