I am Eddie's cousin who lives in Oregon and I only recently found out about Eddie's death. I last saw him in 2019, but had several phone conversations with him in recent years. He loved to watch his Chuck Norris movies (or just about any action movie) and he loved his partner Paulette! Eddie and I spent time together as kids and I always enjoyed his positive attitude and gung-ho spirit about life. He taught me about southern black widow spiders, chiggers, and all sorts of important kid-lore.

When I saw him in 2019, for the first time in 55 years, it was an intense emotional experience for us both. Despite the years, I easily recognized the same positive life force that I had once known as a kid. I feel fortunate to have reconnected with his old-man version of that youthful spirit. Our meeting also served as a reminder that long-ago friends can still re-connect despite a chasm of many years. That was an important lesson. Rest in peace, Cousin Eddie, you will be greatly missed.
