Molly Ann Castleberry

of Little Rock, AR

November 22, 1928 - July 11, 2023

Molly Ann Castleberry, 94, of Little Rock, peacefully went to be with the Lord on July 11, 2023. Molly was born November 22, 1928 in Muldrow, Oklahoma to Wirt and Grace Ann Lewis. She met the love of her life Orville E. Castleberry, Sr. in Gladewater, Texas and they were married on August 8, 1948. Orville and Molly were married for 69 years.

Molly was preceded in death by her loving husband, Orville; her parents; sisters, Willa Lorraine Warren (IJ) and Lois Jean Stroud (Red); brothers, Lisbon Dow Lewis (Dimps) and William Albert Lewis (Elsie) and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Molly is survived by her daughter, Debby Williamson (Ron) of Bedford, Texas and son, Orville E. Castleberry, Jr. of North Little Rock, Arkansas; grandchildren, Cindy Vigneron (Brandon) of Benton, Louisiana, Christy Helms (Neil) of Red Oak, Texas, Kimberly Viola (Philip) of North Richland Hills, Texas and Scott Williamson (Brittany) of Haslet, Texas; 10 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; nieces; nephews and good friend who also called her mom, John McCaslin.

Molly graduated from Gladewater High School and later completed cosmetology school. In 1948, Molly met Orville on a blind date and shortly after they were married. Two years later, they welcomed daughter, Debby. From there, Molly cared for Debby and spent time living in Texas, Alabama and Georgia while Orville worked plumbing jobs with his brother-in-law.

In 1957, the family moved to Muldrow, Oklahoma where Orville served in the Air National Guard at Ft. Smith, Arkansas. It was during this time they welcomed son, Orvie.

After Orvie's arrival, the family moved to Ft. Worth, Texas and Crowley, Louisiana so Orville could become an ordained minister. During this time Molly served as the secretary at Crowley First Baptist Church to help support her family. Orville's ministry took them from Crowley, Louisiana to Ward, Malvern, DeValls Bluff and Little Rock, Arkansas. As a Pastor's Wife, Molly lovingly served many church members and in functional organizations, including teaching Sunday School, leading the Girl's Auxiliary, singing with the choir and typing Orville's sermons. While in DeValls Bluff, Molly and Orville went to work for the Arkansas State Health Department. Molly served as bookkeeper until she retired to care for Orville.

Molly loved the Lord with all her heart and was firm in her faith. She took pride in her greatest roles as wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and was always in prayer on their behalf. She enjoyed camping with family and friends at the lake, fishing and doing word searches. Molly was one of a kind - gracious, tiny but with so much strength, stubborn at times, resourceful in the kitchen, easily tickled by a joke, quick to offer a smile and always left you with her love. Even in her last days, Molly's concern was for others making sure they were eating, resting and taking care of themselves.

Molly's family would also like to express their gratitude to the staff of Brookdale Chenal Heights and Arkansas Hospice Home Care for the loving care provided.

A visitation will be held from 5:00pm until 7:00pm on Friday, July 21, 2023 at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home, 10900 I-30, Little Rock, Arkansas 72209. Funeral services will be 11:30am, Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Roller-Drummond with burial to follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park, 7401 AR-5, Alexander, Arkansas 72002.
