of Mountain Home, AR
December 27, 1930 - July 8, 2023
Hazel Earline Climer Harris, 92, of Mountain Home went to be with the Lord on July 8, 2023 in the comfort of her home.
Hazel was born on December 27, 1930 to Fred and Mary Cox Climer. She was married to Ralph Leslie Harris (Bud) on April 5, 1947, when she was 17 years old. Together they had five boys. Hazel was a homemaker while the boys were growing up. She made all of their clothes, gardened, canned and took amazing care of her sweet boys. She was a member of Arkana Baptist Church. When she was 50 years old, she decided to get her driver's license and took a job at Baxter Lab. Hazel always loved to take care of her beautiful flowers and it showed.
Bud and Hazel had nine grandsons and one granddaughter. They spent many years running in and out of their home. She adored these children and she always had bologna, hotdogs and pecan rolls as snacks as well as home cooked meals. Grandma made the best pallets to sleep on with a stack of quilts she had made and all the kids were lined up. The grands played many games of football in Grandma and Grandpa's yard. Many memories will be cherished by her grandchildren.
Hazel had the sweetest voice with such a kind heart and she was selfless. If you ever walked through her door, she offered you a cup of coffee and ''anything else you could find''. As you left her home, she would say, ''just come back when you can'' and tell us she loved us. Her grandchildren grew to love her secret sense of humor and her little giggle was priceless.
She loved her family and friends and she instilled good values in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren that have served them well. Her life was a blessing to all that knew her and her memory is ours to treasure.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph Leslie Harris; a son, William (Bill) Dean Harris; a son, Robert Lynn Harris and a grandson, Scott Ray Harris.
Hazel is survived by her children, Vernie (Johanna) Harris of Royal, David (Phyliss) Harris of Huntsville, Tommy Harris (Cathy Tietjen) of Mtn. Home and Daughter-in-law, Bevery Harris of Mtn. Home. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Shane (Wendy) Harris of Royal, Curt Harris of Eagle, CO, Angie (Larry) Elmore of Perryville, Ron (Pam) Harris of Johnson, Travis (Lisa) Harris of Hindsville, Jeremy (Jennifer) Harris of Mtn. Home, Jason (Erica) of Mtn. Home, Adam (Lindsey) of Gassville, Jesse (Tanya) Harris of Mtn. Home; 17 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at the Lower Oakland Cemetery on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 10:00am with Pastor Larry Elmore officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family has kindly asked that donations be made to the Lower Oakland Cemetery Fund at 3201 County Road 57 Mountain Home, AR 72653.
Arrangements are under the care of Roller Funeral Home.
