of Marshall, AR

April 19, 1940 - June 28, 2023

In Loving Memory of "The Callahan Cowgirl", Eleanor Mae Gardner Yancey, age 83, of Marshall, Arkansas went to be with her Lord and Savior at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 28th, 2023 at her home with her husband, Duane, Carolina Mendoza and the nurse by her side. She was born on April 19th, 1940 at Cottage Hospital in Galesburg, Illinois to Wilson Gale Gardner and Avice Fink Gardner. Eleanor was raised in Cambridge, Illinois.

Eleanor Yancey was a great Christian lady. She loved her Lord and Savior with all her heart. She helped her husband in his business and loved riding horses.

Survivors include her husband of 63 1/2 years, Duane Yancey of the home; one son, John W. Yancey of Marshall; grandson, Ben Yancey and wife, Emily of Marshall; granddaughter, Christina Friend of Maryland; great grandchildren, Ivy Yancey of Marshall, Willow Yancey of Marshall and Tyler Logsdon of Maryland; one brother, Richard Gardner of Lenoir, North Carolina and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Eleanor is preceded in death by her parents, Wilson and Avice Gardner; grandparents, Gladys Shepard, Leonard Gardner and Nellie Gardner; brother, Robert Gardner and sister, Phyllis Nelson.

Graveside services for "The Callahan Cowgirl" will be 10:00 AM Saturday, July 1st, 2023 at Dongola Cemetery in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Jim Arnold Jr. and Bro. Duane Yancey officiating.
