Gary Wayne Carter of Lake City, Arkansas passed away on June 26, 2023 at the age of 71 in Nashville, TN. After several months of declining health, Gary died peacefully with his wife and children by his side.

Gary Wayne Carter was born on December 15, 1951 to Father, Wallace "Ray" and Mother, Lucy "May" Carter in Jonesboro, AR.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Shirley Carter; his mother, Lucy "May" Carter; three sons and their spouses, Brian and Deanna Carter, Eric and Rachel Carter, Nathan and Chassidy Carter; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald Carter and sisters, Pamela Loggins, Karen Gambill and Paula Smith.

A visitation for Gary is planned for Friday, June 30, 2023 from 1-2PM at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 W. Washington Avenue, Jonesboro, AR 72401, with a funeral service to follow beginning at 2PM.

Uncle Gary will be missed. He was proud of Brian, Erick and Nathon. I remember when I was 14 and just received my learners driving permit and him letting me chauffeur him around Jonesboro and Paragould. He was good to check in on dad by phone almost every day.

Gary was the first of the Carters i was introduced to. He was funny, always smiling and loved his family. Havent seen him in years. Its sad that tragedy has to bring you say words about someone. One thing i do admire of this family is that theyve remained close all these years. Thats a tribute to them all. Rest in peace Gary.

Sweet, funny and fun loving cousin, you were a chip off the old block, your father, Ray Carter.
May you rest in heaven with your earthly and heavenly father.
