Lendon Mathew McCarter, 79, of Mountain Home, Arkansas passed away Thursday, June 22, 2023.

Lendon was born in Alexandria, Louisiana May 1, 1944 to Edna Guin LaCaze and Mathew McCarter. He graduated from Cloutierville High School in Louisiana in 1962. Lendon had one brother, Kent McCarter; two sisters, Mateline (Earline) LaCour and Doretha (Reba) Spurgeon. Lendon was called daddy by his daughters, grandpa by his grandchildren, Sonny by his family and even Mac by some of his coworkers. Lendon loved being outdoors and working with wood. He planted gardens, explored mountains and enjoyed nature. However, his real love was working with wood. With his friends and family, he was best known for building beautiful projects in his workshop, especially swings, benches and chairs. His shop is filled with tools and the smell of wood. It holds so many memories for his children and grandchildren. Along with the love of wood working, he also loved traveling to new places and enjoying nature around him. He could see the handiwork of God and he appreciated the beauty of our earth. Lendon believed in and loved God so much.

Lendon is survived by his three daughters; Cindy Lawrence and husband, Bobby Lawrence of Silsbee, Texas; Deborah Charme and husband, Jeff Charme of Atlanta, Georgia; Melanie Warren and husband, Marcus Warren of Little Rock, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Skyler Lawrence and wife, Jessica Lawrence; Brennan Lawrence, Emily Reese and Evan Corley; brother, Kent McCarter and sisters, Mateline (Earline) LaCour and Doretha (Reba) Spurgeon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edna Guin LaCaze and Mathew McCarter and grandson, Channing Reese. Lendon lives on in the hearts and minds of his loving family and friends.

Funeral will be 10:00 am Wednesday, June 28th at Roller-Burns Funeral Home in Yellville, Arkansas. Interment will follow at Hand Valley Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Marcus Warren, Evan Corley, Bobby Lawrence, Skyler Lawrence, Brennan Lawrence and Jeff Charme.
