I was acquainted with Viola as a fellow school librarian and saw her at workshops and meetings. I got to know her better in the past year after she be-friended my mother who moved into the Villa last August. She was such a valuable help to my 97 year-old mother -- walking with her to the dining hall, sitting with her after she had a tooth extraction, and assisting her in so many ways with adjusting to living in a new place. Viola was an angel to my mother, and my sister and I appreciated her and was so grateful for her. I was very sad to learn of her passing.

After moving to Jonesboro from Michigan Ms. Snow was my 2nd grade teacher for the 2ed semester. I remember her to be a wonderful teacher. R.I.P. MS. SNOW.

Miss Snow was my 3rd grade teach and was such a favorite of mine. I have such wonderful memories of her. She had so much energy and made learning truly fun. I will never forget her. I specifically remember a book she let us read about a family that traveled one summer on vacation with their silver travel trailer. I loved that story. What an adventure! Miss Snow was a treasure to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.

Viola was an active and dedicated member of the Craighead County Retired Teachers Association. She served as our secretary for a number of years and did a wonderful job. Viola continued to attend through our last meeting this spring. She will be greatly missed.

I worked with Ms. Snow for years. The Nettleton School District and all of its students, staff, and families were certainly blessed by her dedication to her job and to them. Her first goal was always providing what was best for ‘her children’. Anyone who really knew her would definitely say, “RIP, Ms. Snow, job well done”!

I was very blessed to have Viola in my life for many years. We were fellow librarians in public education and traveled together often to conferences. We were also sisters in Alpha Delta Kappa. Most of all, she was a friend. She had genuine love and concern for everyone in her life. Her students never forgot her, nor did she forget them. They are her legacy, as are many, many friends and acquaintances.

I was acquainted with Viola because my grandparents, Curtis and Syble Haag (and other family members) attended church with her for many years at the Pleasant Valley Methodist Church. When I would visit church there with my grandparents, she always made a point to speak with me and treated me with kindness. My family always attended the annual Christmas program on Christmas Eve that Viola planned and she always invited me and my brother to participate, even thought we didn't attend church there. She was a dedicated Christian who made a difference in the lives of those around her.

I grew up with Viola in the little country Pleasant Valley Methodist church until moving away to start teaching. We returned every year for the Christmas Program that Viola so expertly planned every year. I had the privilege of having Miss Snow as my librarian when I attended Fox Meadow Elementary School for Kindergarten through the fourth grade. While in elementary school, I learned a great deal from her – how to find good books using the card catalog, how to prepare bibliographies, and even geography concepts such as latitude and longitude. Even after I finished my elementary education, I always enjoyed any opportunity that I had to visit with her. I extend my sincerest condolences to the family during this difficult time. She was one of a kind, and she will be missed.

Viola was a faithful member of Jonesboro Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution.
She came to meeting early and helped set up chairs at the Jonesboro-Craighead County Library Round Room and after the meeting she helped put them up.
She was always looking out for someone to give a Community Service Award to.
She will be missed.
