Sue Ann Flanigan, age 96, of Harrison, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, May 24, 2023, in Harrison, Arkansas. Sue was born September 30, 1926, to John Jones and Wanda (Gallemore) Jones in Carthage, Missouri.

Sue had a vibrant personality filled with many hobbies. She loved her children, enjoyed volunteer work, and was President of the Little Rock Garden Club. She also loved to volunteer at the University of Arkansas Medical Center. She was President of a church group called The Circle, held at the First United Methodist Church. Sue enjoyed Vacation Bible School and would often volunteer there. She very much loved her dogs, especially Leroy. Sue was an avid card player and enjoyed playing games like Black Jack with her grandson. Sue loved gardening and anything outdoors and very much loved the Lord.

Sue is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Stevenson Flanigan, MD; two sons, Stevenson Flanigan JR. "Tucker" and Michael Wesley Flanigan; son-in-law, Max A. Wright; niece, Cathy McNerney and her sister, Mary Jo McNerney.

Sue is survived by her two daughters, Terri Flanigan Wright of Harrison, Arkansas, and Marcia Ann Flanigan Kirby and her husband, Lawrence Kirby of Gonzales, Louisiana; niece, Jan Shurtleff of Plano, Texas; nephew, Jon McNerney of Maine; one grandson, Thomas Stevenson Wright and his wife, Rebecca Wright of Springdale, Arkansas; one great-grandchild, Fletcher Wright and many other family and friends who will dearly miss her.


Graveside service was Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at Maplewood Cemetery with Pastor Aaron Dickenson officiating.
