Nellie Mae Orr of Harrisburg, AR passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, AR. Nellie was born January 1, 1938 in Florence, AL to James and Hattie Mae (Lyles) Jenkins. She worked in the grocery business and was of the Baptist belief. Nellie's hobbies included working in her yard, gardening and cooking for her family, that she loved dearly.
Nellie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 46 years, Ottis Orr; a granddaughter, Rosa Lee Orr; a great-granddaughter, Ellie Jane Orr; five brothers, Houston, James, Bill, Doug and Delbert Jenkins and two sisters, Helen King and Evelyn Parker.
Those left behind to cherish the wonderful memories of Nellie include her three sons, Billy (Ruth) Orr, Johney (Ellen) Orr and Glen Orr; twelve grandchildren; a host of great-grandkids and a brother, Ellis Jenkins.
Chapel services will be 2 pm Thursday at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 West Washington Avenue in Jonesboro, AR. Burial will follow at Harrisburg Memorial Cemetery in Harrisburg, AR.
Visitation will precede the service beginning at 12 pm.
Nellie's grandsons, Wally Orr, Tyler Orr, Matt Orr, Steven Orr, Jared Orr and Trey Keller will serve as pallbearers.
