I am sad to hear the news of Coach Cooper’s passing. My thoughts and prayers are with his Family and loved ones. Travis was such a positive influence in my life as a teenager. I played a season on a baseball team that Travis coached. (Bubba Cooper, Gary Horne, Chris, David Bradley, Bobby Jones, and others that I am unable to recall where on the team. Some of the best memories of my life happened during that summer. I remember the team needed a catcher. I was the guy and in the beginning I was terrible just flat out right terrible at playing the position. Coach Cooper stayed with me though. He brought in Randall Churchman to teach me the ropes and before I knew it I was getting pretty good at the position. Back then at the end of the season not everyone got a trophy. Only one player on the team received a trophy for the year as the best player. I remember we all voted and Gary Horne (Gynn) was the player that was selected by the team as the best on the team and he surely was. Most of us were in the back of Coach Cooper’s truck at the time this trophy selection was going on. Coach Cooper didn’t say anything to me but he looked me in the eye and he handed me a baseball. I will always remember that summer and moment. We lost a good one for sure!
Cooper family - Very sweet guy, loved by many and will surly be missed this side of heaven by all that knew him. He always greeted with a big smile. Praying for comfort and peace that passes all our understanding from God at this great time of need for you all, may the Lord Jesus wrap each of you in his loving arms and hold you all in the coming hours, months, & years, and be reminded there will be a great reunion day! I love you all ðŸ™ðŸ¼
