Jackie Ford, a life-long resident of Saint James, AR died on April 19, 2023 at his residence, after a short battle with cancer, at the age of 88, surrounded by family and in the care of Legacy Hospice.
Jackie is survived by his wife, Helen Ford of 59 years; his children, Tim Ford of Saint James and Talbert Ford (John Whitfield) of Conroe Texas; his sisters-in-law, Betty Cowden of Batesville AR, Helen Ford of Cody Nebraska, Ellen Tucker (Nat) of Batesville AR and a host of nieces and nephews.
Jackie was born in Saint James, Arkansas on August 24, 1934 to James Tolbert Ford and Essie G Ford.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James T, Sr. and Essie G Ford; his brothers, James T Ford, Hollis Ford, Cooper Ford; a sister, Essie Fae Ford and a great Nephew.
Jackie was a veteran of the armed forces, having served in the US Army as a firefighter. He was long-time member of the St. James United Methodist church. Jackie retired from the Blanchard Shirt company and enjoyed working on his property and doing crafts after retirement. Jackie was a devoted husband and loving father. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
A funeral service is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Saturday April 22nd at the Saint James United Methodist Church. Pastor John Michael will officiate. Visitation will be at the church from 2 to 3 p.m. before the service. Interment will be at the Kelley and Ford Cemetery in St. James Ar.
Pallbearers will be Rob Ford, Darrell Ford, Mark Ford, Tony Younger, Danny Younger and Lonnie Meeker.
