Barbara Joan McGaughey, 83, of Clarksville passed away peacefully Thursday evening, April 6, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born November 1, 1939 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Walter Snyder Angeney and Julianna Jolly (Angeney).
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Andrew Jerrel McGaughey; one brother, Walter Snyder Angeney Jr. and her daughter in law, Melanie June McGaughey.
She is survived by her brother, Frederick Jacob Angeney of Arizona; three sons, Donald Edward Moore of South Carolina, Robert T. Moore of Russellville and William Andrew McGaughey of Lamar and one cousin, Elizabeth Caddick of Pennsylvania. Her grandchildren include Kevin McGaughey of Oklahoma, Allen Moore, Tristen Moore, Sarah McGaughey, Hailey and Jay Baumgartner of Clarksville, Robert ''Tony'' and Amber Moore of Knoxville and Amanda Couron of Clarksville. She also leaves behind many great-grandchildren and numerous friends of the family who will greatly miss her.
She was a long-time standing member of the First Baptist Church in Clarksville. Barbara worked for nearly 25 years at the Johnson County Reginal Medical Center as a billing clerk. She was an incredible artist and could do anything with a pencil or a paintbrush. She was a devoted Christian who always put God, family and country before anything else. Barbara touched the lives of countless souls and never met a stranger. Heaven has gained another angel and she will truly be forever missed.
A visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Roller-Cox Funeral Home. A graveside service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Oakland Cemetery. Pastor Darrel Bridges will officiate. Pallbearers include Tony Moore, Allen Moore, Tristen Moore, Jay Baumgartner, Christopher Littlejohn and Naythan Couron.

Aunt Barbara was very dear to me. She always had a ready smile and a wonderful laugh. For all her suffering, she never complained but thanked the Lord for everything. She was very kind and I will always remember her â¤ï¸
