June 12, 1955 - April 2, 2023
Thomas Barton "Bart" Mathis Webb, born June 12, 1955, departed this world on April 2, 2023. Bart was born and raised in England, Arkansas, with his high school and adult years spent between Scott and Little Rock. Bart was a graduate of Hall High School and upon graduation attended Hendrix College completing a B.A. in Psychology at University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. Bart spent time working as a counselor, in auto sales and then returned to work on the family farm. Bart was a voracious reader having Mark Twain at the top of his list. He was also a talented guitarist with a deep appreciation for music, nature and all of life. He enjoyed spending time with his mother, grandparents, family, especially his nieces and nephews, as well as his many friends.
Bart's generosity had no limits when it came to his nieces and nephews - always finding time for them and making them laugh. He leaves behind many cherished memories, always striving to connect and encourage them in any way possible. Shannon, as the oldest niece, remembers Uncle Bart having a "wicked sense of humor" and constantly making her laugh. I think Bart's love for his nieces and nephews may best be expressed by his niece, Hallie, "Uncle Bart was the best uncle I could have ever asked for. He was the smartest, funniest and coolest person I knew growing up... from driving me to and from school and everywhere in between. He taught me how to play the guitar like the world depended on it. He loved motorcycles and music and had the coolest memories from living in Colorado to Hawaii and so much more! Not everyone is lucky enough to have their own Tom Hanks/Robin Williams mixed up in one person and, for that, I am forever grateful God decided to bless us with you."
Bart leaves behind nieces and nephews, Hallie Davis, Caroline Davis, Margaret Davis, Virginia Davis, Kevin Webb, Shannon Cowling Benitz, Meghan Farrell, Katie Farrell Williams, Allison Callahan, Ryan Farrell and Patrick Farrell. Bart also leaves behind his brother, James "Jim" Webb (Cathy) and three sisters, Hallie Webb Lindsey (Bruce), Susan Webb Cowling (Dan), Pattie Webb Davis and stepsister, Nance Buffalo Siems. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Vester Webb, Jr. and Marilyn Mathis Buffalo; stepfather, Vann Manning Buffalo and nephew, Steven Webb, as well as two stepsisters, Sharon Buffalo Bowman and Martha Buffalo Baxter. The family would like to thank Jim Barnhill and brothers-in-law, Bruce and Dan for their care and friendship to Bart over the years.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pulaski County Humane Society. We invite family and friends for the graveside service to be held at Mulberry Cemetery, England, AR on Tuesday, April 11 at 11:00 AM, Pastor David Inzer of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, England, Arkansas will be officiating.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of the family. I’m so sorry for your loss of Bart. I remember so many fun times growing up with him in our neighborhood.
Sincerely,
Tammie Williams
I Can truly Say Bart Was One Of The Most Interesting Customer to Come Into The England Revenue Office. When He Came In We knew We Were In For Some Interesting Conversations. I Believe He Could Talk On Anything and Most Of The Time He Did; Never In A Hurry To Leave, Never a Boring Moment. There Will Always Be That One Person That Stand Out In A Crowd, They Don't Have To Say Anything, Just Their Presence Says It All..."That Was Bart."
Our hearts and sympathy are with all of you at this difficult time. May God bless you with peace and strength.
