of Frenchman's Bayou, AR
January 17, 1948 - April 5, 2023
Peyton Speck, 75, of Frenchman's Bayou, AR passed away April 5, 2023. He was born January 17, 1948 to O. W. and Alice Fletcher Speck. Peyton was ''above all else a devout Christian with unwavering faith in Christ'', a farmer and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Joiner. He attended the University of Arkansas, where he played football for the Razorbacks and was a Marine Corps Aviation (Rio for F4 Phantom Jets) member for the United State Marines. Prior to joining the military, he was a science teacher at West Memphis Public Schools. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading his Bible, playing cards, especially bridge and riding around the farm after a good rain. He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Speck; son, Kane Speck; daughter, Claire Speck; sister, Susan Sumners; step-mother, Beverly Speck and many nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bruce Speck.
Proudly served with Peyton in the United States, Marine Corps. He was one of the finest men I ever met. I was a sergeant and crew chief for the jets that he flew. His personality and friendship preceded him. It was an honor to make his acquaintance. We
attended church there together while stationed at Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. I am certain the light have gone out in this world at his departure.
My deepest condolences to his family.

Dear Rhonda Ann, Claire and Kane, Words cannot describe the sorrow we have for the loss of Peyton. He was a genuine icon with his beliefs, strengths, and values and he will be truly missed by so many of us. We have a ton of fond memories of you and Peyton and still laugh about the Pancho's incident when Kane's massive Great Dane Duke chased all of those workers back inside ... that was definitely a sight to behold! Please know that as you three go through this difficult time, you are all so very loved. Our hearts go out to you and to everyone who loved Peyton. The world lost a fine man but we all gained an angel. May God give you strength and wrap his arms around you during this extremely difficult time. Love you always, Pete and Muffett
