Vurl D. Block, 74, of Harrisburg passed away Thursday, March 30, 2023 at St. Bernard's Medical Center. He was born on October 13, 1948 in Newport to William and Fredith (Brake) Block. Vurl was an Engineer for Colson Corp and was of the Baptist faith. He served in the National Guard. Vurl loved music, playing the banjo, guitar, piano, hunting, fishing and woodworking.
Vurl was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 48 years, Margaret Ann (Simmons) Block; brothers, William Alexander Block, Jr., Jim Block and Terry Block and sister, Wanda Jean Zibel.
Survivors include his son, William Cody Block; daughter, Lori Ann and husband, Paul Orrick; brothers, Vernon and wife, Anita Block, Dorsey and wife, Jamie Block.
A graveside service will be Monday, April 3, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Waldenburg Cemetery with Bill Legere officiating.
Visitation will be Monday, April 3, 2023 from 10:00 am until 12:00pm at Roller Farmers Union Funeral Home, Jonesboro.

So sorry for your loss. Vurl was a great man glad I had the privilege to meet and work with him. He will be missed. So sorry I can't make it to the funeral I have to work but I'll be there in spirit. Prayers for you all.
