Mary Kathleen (Kathy) Thornton went to be with Our Heavenly Father on March 23, 2023. Kathy was born in North Little Rock, Arkansas on February 23, 1945 to Bertie Mable Sanders. She is preceded in death by her mother; her brother, David Sanders and her sister, Elizabeth Ann White. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Gary Paul Thornton. She is also survived by her daughter, Kimberly Wiley (Marcus); her daughter, Kristi Sutton (Claude); her daughter, Summer Thornton Baird (Ryan) and her son, Brandon Thornton. She will forever live on in her grandchildren, Courtney Kathleen Potter, Alexa Rae Potter (Nigel), Aslan Elisabeth Sutton, Olivia Baird, Evelyn Baird, Aston Evelyn Sutton and Astor Eleanor Sutton.

Kathy was a legal assistant and paralegal at Friday, Eldridge, and Clark Law Firm in Little Rock where she worked for over 25 years. Her passion in life was her devotion to her grandchildren whom she picked up from school every single day and helped them practice the piano and do their homework. She did these things to help her daughter, Kristi, in whom she instilled the strength and dedication to become a physician. With a busy medical practice, Kristi would need help with the children and Kathy was there for the children every minute of every day. Kathy and her husband, Gary, were also caregiver and friend to Mr. Willie Dotson, a friend of our family, for 30 years.

Services will be held at Roller Owens Funeral Home on John F Kennedy Boulevard in North Little Rock on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. with visitation at 8:30 a.m. just preceding the service. Interment will be at Pinecrest Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Alexander, Arkansas on Thursday, March 30 at 11:00.
