Charles Glenn Lewis, age 82, of Bryant, Arkansas passed away on Monday, March 13, 2023. He was born on August 31, 1940 in Crystal Springs, Arkansas to Brady and Appie Lewis.
Glenn graduated from Mabelvale High School as co-valedictorian in 1958. He subsequently attended and graduated from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering followed by his Master's degree in Structural Engineering, summa cum laude, in 1963. He was self-employed from 1982 until retirement on March 13, 2023, at which time he received his most prized promotion. He was a charter member and deacon of Guiding Light Baptist Church in Mabelvale, Arkansas for 57 years. Glenn's greatest priority, just ahead of his family, was his love for and dedication to the Lord's Assembly.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Brady and Appie Lewis and his granddaughter, Ashton Alayne Lewis Eakin. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara Lewis; three children, Mark (Tammy) Lewis of Mabelvale, Phillip (Mary) Lewis of Bryant and Myra (Ted) Schlesier of Mabelvale; six grandchildren, Zachary (Christi) Lewis, Grant (Hillary) Lewis, Abigail (Paul) Walter, Bailey (Garrett) Rich, Will Lewis and Grace Lee and eleven great-grandchildren, Riley Lewis, Wyatt Lewis, Brynn Eakin, Alana Lewis, Maci Hayley, Lucy Lewis, Cambry Eakin, Haven Hayley, Kelvin Lewis, Julian Lewis and Charlie Mae Rich. He is also survived by his sister, Carol Lewis Lipton of Dallas, Texas.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, March 19, 2023 at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home, 10900 Interstate 30, Little Rock, Arkansas. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, March 20, 2023 at Forest Hills Cemetery, 10201 Highway 5 North, Alexander, Arkansas. The service will be officiated by Brother Kevin Bellinger.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CARTI (Central Arkansas Radiation Therapy Institute) of Little Rock in memory of Charles Glenn Lewis

Glenn was a straight up good man. You didn’t have to worry about what he was thinking,
he would tell you. His life work is scattered all over this great nation. His fingerprints are not hard to find. He engineered the building that we are in today. it was always good to visit with Glenn. He will be missed greatly. Our heart, thoughts, and prayers are with his family. May God bless you all.

I’m saddened to hear of Glens passing. Being a Mabelvale school buddy, I’ll always remover how smart Glenn was.
I knew he would be successful in life.
I’ll cherish the times we visited at some the 58 reunions.
He was a good Christian man that will be missed. My condolences to the family.
Barbara - To you and all of your family: I’m genuinely saddened to hear of
Glenn’s passing. He and I have been close friends for forty years. What started
as a professional relationship quickly grew into a personal friendship I will always
cherish and remember. A true man of God who never compromised his convictions.

Phillip and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Glen did paperwork and drawings for our house when we got ready to build many years ago. You were in my class in 5th grade and sent me to your dad for help in the drawings. We have always admired your family. May God bless you and your family during this time.
