Claude Gibson, 88, of Batesville passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2023.
He was born January 28, 1935 in Barton, Arkansas to Claude Raymond Gibson and Gayle Ross Gibson.
Claude was a Christian and loved the Lord; he was also a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. He served as the Music Director, Youth Leader and Deacon at Lexa Baptist. He also served as Deacon and Music Director at Sardis Lake Baptist. Claude was a loving, happy and friendly man who loved his family, and his kids were his life. He was a truck driver for 34 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, in his younger years enjoyed playing football for Barton High School and always enjoyed watching Razorback football games.
Survivors include his son, Randy Gibson (Patsy) of West Memphis; two daughters, Devora Tappan (David) and Joetta Walker both of Southside; brother, Cecil Gibson (Brenda) of West Helena; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Zettie Lee Vickers Gibson and brother, Don Gibson.
Pallbearers will be Donnie Ginn, Carl Ray Drennan, Allen Tappan, Trent Tappan, Randle Gibson, Charles Drennan Jr. and Robert Drennan.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00am Friday, March 17, 2023 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home of West Helena with Bro. Byron Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
There will be no visitation.

Claude and Zettie was very special people in our life he loved to talk about his truck driving and going fishing and he loved to sing specials he sure will be missed
I loved Bro. Claude and Sister Zettie. They were very sweet people. I too went to church with him at Emmanuel Baptist church in Southside. Bro. Claude always made me smile and always had a warm hug. He will be missed

I am so sorry to hear about Claud’s passing. My husband and I went to church with Claud at Emmanuel Baptist at Southside. He and Zettie were very nice people.
Joetta, Debora and Randy, I was so sorry to hear of your dad’s passing. I remember his beautiful singing voice as he sang special music at Lexa Baptist. May God bless you all and keep you during this difficult time and thereafter as you move forward without him.
