David Caldwell, 64, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Friday, March 3, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born on October 24, 1958 in Whittier, California to his mother, Paula Pitchford. David was a line foreman for Southern Telephone Company in Ozark and worked as a driller and derrick hand in the oil field. He enjoyed looking for arrow heads, camping, making candles and riding on jet skies. David enjoyed making people laugh and taking care of his family.
In addition to his mom, he is preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Maes; a sister, Donna Caldwell; a grandson, Dustin Lee Justice Rose and a nephew, Scott Bridges.
He is survived by his sons, David Paul Caldwell and Joseph Caldwell both of Fort Smith; Justin Ferguson and wife, Renee of Paris; a daughter, Crystal Brock and husband, John of Paris; one sister, Katherine Walker of Fort Smith; seven grandchildren, Jacob Crane, Ethan Rose, Emily Landis, Haley Mayer, Lizzie Mayer, Chevelle Reynold and Jayden Caldwell; a great grandson, Riley Corbin; and other family members and friends.
The family will have a memorial service 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 10, 2023 at Harmony Assembly of God near Paris. Burial of cremated remains will be after the memorial service at Oakwood cemetery.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Leonard Fulmer, Arthur Pearson, Tyler Walker and Raymond Powell.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.
Paul, Joey, Ferg and Chrissy, you are all in my thoughts and prayers, there will be no other like your dad, he was one of a kind in so many ways. Now you will have the best guardian angel, This life won’t be the same without him in it, but what a joyous reunion when we all meet again. Love y’all.
Dave, I've known you for 15yrs you were there for me when no one else was. All I had to do was call and you would show up for me every time. I'm still having trouble accepting the fact that you are no longer here. I miss you and I love you dearly. My apologies for being distant, we were just on different paths. I hope you found your way so until we meet again my friend I love you always

My most favorite memories were when we were on vacation and I would impatiently wait for you to come home on the weekends so I could hug you, find fireflies, play records , dance, and play. You were the coolest big cousin a little girl could ask for.

I couldn’t ask for a better father in law he never had a bad thing to say about anyone he was fun and full of life my favorite memory with him was us drag racing in Barling I beat him in that Altima he told me he didn’t wanna show me up good times gonna miss you Dave love you man !!
