Larry Don Griffith

of Harrison, AR

October 12, 1955 - February 16, 2023

Larry Don Griffith, age 67, of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away Friday, February 16, 2023, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Larry was born September 12, 1955, in Wichita Falls, Texas, the son of Coyt Griffith and Loyce Dixon Lloyd. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Jeannie Decker, his father-in-law Ray Kirkland, his brother-in-law Brian Hicks and his longtime friend, Buddy Trotter.

Larry moved with his parents to Fayetteville, Arkansas, in elementary school. As a kid, he worked with his dad, who taught him how to work heavy equipment. In 1980, Larry moved to Harrison and started Griffith fencing and welding. He built fences all over the area and surrounding states. He married the love of his life Tracy in 1999. Larry loved rodeo and horses. He was a bull rider, bullfighter, and later a pick-up man.

He retired from fencing in 2015 when he began his journey for a new heart. In January 2019, Larry was blessed with a transplant. He spent the next four years working cattle and riding the tractor. He worked alongside his sons, Tee and Drew, as much as they would let him. He kept Austin Pratt on his toes and the phone as much as he could. He made sure he attended all of Maggie's events, even when the doctors told him he couldn't. Larry loved his family. His kids and grandkids were his greatest joy, and he rarely missed anything they did. He spent countless hours at the sale barn with friends, and you always saw him with a glass of unsweet tea.

Larry is survived by his wife, Tracy, of the home; sons and daughters-in-law: Tee and Angie Griffith of Harrison and Drew and Courtney Griffith of Harrison; daughters: Manda Griffith of Niangua, Missouri, and Maggie Griffith of Harrison; 13 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was Monday, February 20, 2023, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home/

Graveside service was Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at Maple Leaf Cemetery, with Gene France officiating.

Pallbearers: Jeff Knight, Austin Pratt, Danny Howell, Gus Howell, Jimmy Kirkland, Shawn Campbell, and John Heuer

Larry was one of a kind for sure, always kind words and telling stories and we had many. We spent many many hours working cattle, horses and haying. What laughs we had and I can see you and Buddy up there telling big stories today.
Our prayers are with each of you, may you find comfort and peace.

Since he fought bulls at our FFA rodeo...that's about 45 years...Larry and I were friends. He and Keith are probably catching wild cattle today. They are riding the best horses, the loops always fit, the ground is smooth and flat and the temperature is perfect.

Our family enjoyed Larry so much. He was a great friend, listener, and storyteller. The kids never went without candy and I can’t recall a time I have ever seen him without a smile or ornery grin on his face. He will be greatly missed, but well Remembered.
