Ida Merle Richardson, 96, of Mountain View, Arkansas died February 17, 2023. She was born July 2, 1926 in Calico Rock, Arkansas to Floyd ''Red'' and Annie (Guthrie) Smith. Merle was a Christian of the Assembly of God faith. She enjoyed babysitting many children in the Mountain View area. She was lovingly known as ''Meme'' to the children and loved telling stories about them.
Merle is preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Marvin Richardson; her parents, Floyd ''Red'' and Annie (Guthrie) Smith; one son, Jerry Richardson; one grandson, Dr. Travis Richardson; brother, Sonny Smith and sisters, Mildred Lamb, Madelyne Hamby, Ruthann Haynes and Paula Nordrum.
Merle is survived by her daughter, Marva Jean Anderson and husband, Ronnie; granddaughter, Cindy Stage and husband, Mike; grandson, Dr. Stacy Richardson and wife, Kim; five great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren, along with many extended family and friends.
Visitation is Sunday, February 19, 2023 from 1:00-2:00PM at Roller Crouch Chapel in Mountain View, Arkansas. Funeral services will follow the visitation beginning at 2:00PM, with Brothers David Campbell and Robb Arnold officiating. Interment will be at Fifty Six Cemetery in Fifty Six, Arkansas.
Pallbearers are Dr. Stacy Richardson, Kyle Stage, Nicholas Richardson, Joe Hamby, Larry Lamb, Bob Sis, and Tommy Wren.
Roller Crouch Funeral Home in Mountain View, Arkansas is in charge of the arrangements.
