Roger Eric Johnson of Judsonia passed away on January 13, 2023 with his wife by his side after complications of his battle with cancer.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Karen E. Johnson; his daughter, Ramona Thomas; stepsons, Layton Hartley and Skye Hartley; five grandchildren, Haden Thomas, Jessica Meyers, Eric Agee, Garrett Hartley and Skylee Hartley; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Norma Westmoreland, Linda Hoffman and Sharon Covington; two brothers, Miles Johnson and Mike Johnson and a host of other relatives and friends.
He served in the Army in the 70's in which after he worked in a cabinet and bronze shop before enlisting in the Arkansas Army Guard. After a health issue, he was on a Medical Discharge and when he was cleared, he returned to the same job as a Civil Servant and later he retired from there in Property Books.
He had a variety of skills and was often called upon for his help from family and friends. He would often say "Not a problem" or "I'll be there". He loved Pickle ball and played many a game and refereed several. He also enjoyed playing golf, but what he really enjoyed was the fellowship of both.
He was a good man, not perfect, but the kind of man people enjoyed be around. He was much loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
Services will be 11:00 AM Monday, January 23, 2023 at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 1501 W Maryland Ave, North Little Rock, AR 72120.

My Daddy was the best man I’ve ever known. He was kind and caring and he loved to help when he could. He was committed to anything he did and followed through no matter what. He served his Country and his fellow man. He loved to play golf and pickle ball. He raced a dirt track car back in the 70’s with his brothers. He loved racing and drag racing! He has 2 great grandchildren as well. He loved to get together with family for cookouts, horseshoes, washers, and Mexican dominos! He loved the show M*A*S*H! He was just a fun well loved mad and he will be greatly missed.

I am privileged to count Roger as a friend. I worked under him at Camp Robinson with Bowhead. He was always a gentleman, and a great guy in all respects.
My prayer is that God will comfort his family and friends.

Roger was a great logistician who shared his knowledge and expertise. Roger seemed to always have a great spirit about him. He was calm in crisis and showed how common sense would prevail eventually. Rest in peace and know your example of doing the right thing was admired by many.

Just wanted to wish the family my condolences. Roger was the unit administrator at HHC 2/153rd infantry in Searcy when I enlisted in June 1979. I had nothing but the utmost respect for SGT Johnson. He will be missed. The family will be in our prayers.

Roger and I were co-workers at USPFO at Camp Robinson, NLR AR. Roger was a very smart and a good co-worker. He will be missed RIP Roger. My prayers for the family.
