of Harrison, AR
July 26, 1937 - January 10, 2023
Dora "Dody" Helen (Close) Moore, age 85, was carried in the arms of angels to her eternal home in Heaven on Tuesday, January 10, 2023. Dody was in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Kansas City, Missouri on July 26, 1937, to Glenn and Lela (Wheat) Close. Dody was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings; her husband, Don L. Moore; her son, Steve Moore, and her son-in-law, Larry Harp.
Dody moved to Harrison around the age of 12. She married the love of her life, Don Moore, on February 27, 1954, at the age of 18 and 16 respectively. Over the next 63 years, they were seldom seen apart. They had two children, Debbie and Steve. Throughout her life, she worked tirelessly in the home to see that her family was taken care of.
There were many activities Dody loved to do with her family. She loved attending church, camping with family and the Hogwild Hitchhiker Club, fishing, crafting, and baking. Dody was quick-witted and loved her family fiercely. She taught her family to cherish every moment, love deeply, laugh daily and persevere through every challenge life gave her. There was no doubt that Dody mastered loving her family. She would have gone to the ends of the earth to protect them. Dody and Don's marriage was a true reflection of Christ's unconditional love.
Survivors include her daughter, Debbie Harp of Harrison; her granddaughters, Morgan Duncan and spouse, Ben of Branson, Missouri, and Stephanie DeWeese and spouse, Taylor of Siloam Springs; her grandsons, Nathan Moore and spouse, Sarah of Harrison and Seth Moore and spouse, Molly of Harrison and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
