Marilyn Jean (Hudspeth) Spurlock, born February 29, 1944 in Yellville AR to G. D. and Sadie (Ott) Hudspeth, passed away Thursday, January 5th, 2023. Marilyn has been a resident of The Springs of Mt. Vista in Harrison for the last 10 years. She loved the staff and residents and called them all her family.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, David Allen (Butch) Hudspeth, Dennis Hudspeth and Johnny (Red) Hudspeth. She is survived by her 2 sisters, Skippy (Donnie) Sharp of Yellville, Lucy (Rodney) Sharp of Yellville and her 4 children, Cheri (Rick) Young of Harrison, David (Jenni) Burris of Woodstock, GA, Dwayne (Jenny) Burris of Flippin and Angie (Braden) Miller of Coweta, OK. She had 8 grandchildren that she loved very much, Jace Doshier, Lance Doshier, Skyler Young, Jed Burris, Parker Burris, Sarah Burris, Morgan Miller and Kate Miller.
Mom worked several jobs over the years and had fond memories of past friends and co-workers. We have reminisced a lot lately and sometimes she would ask for forgiveness or apologize for some circumstance and I would always say ''Are you proud of your kids'' and of course she would say ''yes'', then I would say ''no need to apologize you did a good job''. Thank you God for your Grace.
Special Thank You to the Staff at Mt. Vista, she loved you and to the Staff at NARMC for your kindness. Also, Thank You to Amanda and Ruby Chitsey and of course, moms special buddy, Max.
Visitation for Mrs. Spurlock will be 1:00 2:00 pm Saturday January 7, 2023 at Roller-Burns Funeral Home in Yellville.
Funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor David Burris officiating.
Interment will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near Yellville.
Pallbearers will be Parker Burris, Skyler and Rick Young, Braden Miller, Donnie and James Sharp.
Honorary pallbearers will be all her grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Ruby's Three Wishes, 102 West Stephenson Ave., Harrison, AR 72601.
