Sibyl Mae Rhodes, age 95, of Harrison, passed away on December 24, 2022. She was born August 23, 1927, in Perry Arkansas to O.W. and Sibyl Holmes Dellis. She married Andy Rhodes in Little Rock in October of 1946.
She enjoyed taking care of her family and cooking them homemade chicken and dumplings. She loved her church family at Harrison First Baptist and her Sunday School Class. She was a basketball star in High School, had been invited to join a semi-pro woman's basketball team, and loved watching all sports. Formerly of Newport, Arkansas, Sibyl and Andy moved to Harrison in 1989 after retirement.
Sibyl is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Darrell Fountain of Harrison; her grandchildren and their spouses: Tammy and Shain Satterwhite, Tonya and Federico Suarez, Elizabeth and Jason Bunch, Andrea Umsted; her great-grandchildren and their spouses: Logan and Rachel Fountain, Addison and Kenny Pillow, Stella Satterwhite, Isabel, Emma, and Olivia Suarez, and Cade and Jamie Bunch; great-great-grandchildren: Krew Pillow, Will Fountain, and one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Andy Rhodes who died in 1996, daughter Shirley Umsted, grandson Shane Fountain, and her four brothers.
The funeral service was Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Brandon officiating. Interment in Maplewood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Shain Satterwhite, Jason Bunch, Federico Suarez, Logan Fountain, Kenny Pillow, Ross Parker, Bill Phillips, and Roger Williamson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lottie Moon Christmas Offering in care of Bear Creek Springs Baptist Church of Harrison.
A special thank you to the staff of Maple Esplanade for taking such great care over the last several months.

We always had a great time growing up with Shirley n Nancy. They like us were always at First Baptist Newport. Each time the doors opened. Good times. Shirley was the love of Micks life n I always admire what good care mick took of Shirley. Mrs Sybil and Mr. Andy were always there for our group. I know she will be missed by all.
