of Batesville, AR
May 31, 1947 - December 23, 2022
Carolyn S. Wilson, 75, of Batesville, passed away December 23, 2022 at home. She is survived by her husband, Michael Wilson; daughter, Ronda Thompson (of Batesville) husband, Tim; daughter, Kelli Swaim (of Batesville) husband, Brent; grandchildren, Shelby Dalrymple (of Mammoth Springs) husband, Jordan, Leaney and Logan Thompson; great-grandson, Luke Dalrymple; sister, Dottie Broughton (of New Madrid, MO); brother, Vernon Hurley (of St. Louis, MO) and countless family and friends, for she was loved by so many far and near. Her love had no bounds. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Kay; parents; brother, Rondal Hurley and sister, Lodema Hutchison.
Carolyn leaves behind a legacy of love, service and generosity. Working most of her life as a "professional volunteer", Carolyn served in every way possible. She served as an Air Force wife for 23 years, worked in multiple food pantries and served within her church in any capacity she could. She didn't know how to say "No".
The greatest legacy Carolyn leaves behind is love. For 55 years, she stood next to her greatest love, her best friend and her partner in life. Carolyn and Mike had an epic love that was so obvious to all who saw them together. Never was a cross word spoken between them. Their love was rooted in faith, as was her life. She loved the Lord. It is that faith that she passed to her daughters and it is with that faith her family knows she now rests in the arms of her Lord, holding her baby girl, in her new body and singing hallelujah, for her laundry is done.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at the First United Methodist Church at 10:00am with Katie Pierce officiating. Burial will be at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, 615 E. Main St, Batesville, AR, 72501.
We were so sad to hear of Carolyn's passing, we loved her so much.
We met Mike & Carolyn when Bill & Mike were in the Air Force together. We shared many memories when they lived in Scranton, KS.
Our thoughts & prayers go out to Mike, their daughters & the rest of the family. We pray that God will give you strength during this difficult time.
Dear Mike, with time the pain of loss will come and go. With time the memories will make you smile. With time your turn will come, and Carolyn will be there to greet you. Believe.
With great respect and love
