Eugene Max ScesniakI am a Veteran.

of North Little Rock, AR

December 18, 1932 - December 2, 2022

Eugene M. Scesniak of North Little Rock, AR, passed on to his eternal home December 2, 2022. He was a beloved husband, father, and friend to many.

He was born in Chicago, IL, on December 18, 1932, and lived an incredible 89 years of life.

His three careers included 20 years in the United States Air Force as a navigator on C-130's serving in Korea and Vietnam. He was highly honored with the Distinguished Flying Cross. After retirement, his 2nd career was as a successful stockbroker with Merrill Lynch.

This may surprise everyone, but Gene and his wife Elizabeth began their crafting career in High School. Together they enjoyed this 3rd vocation which blossomed into Delightful Décor scrubbing and artistically painting Gourdgeous Gourds.

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, Max and Antoinette Szczesniak and his younger sister, Maxine Szczesniak. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Elizabeth, his daughters Debra Seznik-Thomas and her husband Ted, Diane Walla and her husband Greg, grandchildren, Joe Thomas and his wife Taylor, Jake Thomas, Lane Walla and Waverly Walla; and sister, Louise Pierce.

Eugene was a faithful member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for many years. One of his best attributes was that he had the patience of a Saint! Although he will be sorely missed here on earth, he has been welcomed into Heaven as a good and faithful servant.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, December 14, at 10:30 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Fr. John Wakube as Celebrant. Committal will follow at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.

I’ll always remember the great times my brother and I had at the trailer out in Shangri-La riding the bikes that our grandparents got us through the trails out at lake ouachita. I’ll remember the fishing, tubing, wakeboarding and butterscotch pie as well!

Gene was in incredibly loving and dedicated man. He loved his family to the fullest extent possible. He always taught me the right way to do things and to do them with a heart full of love. He will be sorely missed and never forgotten.

Rest in Paradise Gene!

Elizabeth and the Scesniak Family: May God grant you strength at this time of loss. This is foremost the time to celebrate a life well-lived. Gene attended St. Edward's Catholic Parish in Little Rock with you for several years. You and Gene were the epitome of a happily married Catholic couple. Your love for each other radiated and shone forth to us. Gene was a member of our St. Edward's Men's Club . He was always fun and interesting to talk with. Gene was constantly willing to volunteer and assist the Parish in any way that he could. Gene always had that wonderful smile of his that warmly greeted us whenever we saw him. May he Rest in the Peace of Christ with all of our Loved Ones who have ascended to Heaven. Reg Rogers St. Edward's Catholic Parish (Little Rock)

Elizabeth and family,

My heart and prayers go out to all of you at this time. Although there are no words to ease your pain, I would like to share this with you :

Abraham Lincoln once said, “In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.” Your husband’s years were so full of life! He was an amazing man, and his loss will be felt by all who knew him. You have my deepest sympathy as you grieve and remember him.
