Mary Laura Chaney, age 90, of Harrison, Arkansas passed away Sunday December 4, 2022 in Harrison.

May was born June 29, 1932 in Pyatt, Arkansas to Carter and Clara (Melton) Bright. She had worked 17 years at Mary-Bax Shirt Factory. A lifetime resident of the area, Mary attended Pyatt Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing the piano and singing, both at church and at home. Above all, she was a loving mother and grandmother.

Mary is survived by her sons, Jimmy Chaney (Ann) of Harrison, Arkansas, Tim Chaney (Modene) of Omaha, Arkansas; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rue; her brother, Jim Bright; her sister, Maxine Talburt and one great-granddaughter, Ava Warren.

Funeral service will be 10:00 am Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Pyatt Baptist Church with Bro. Doug Burriss officiating.

Pallbearers will be Jason Chaney, Michael Chaney, Ronnie Robison, Danny Urioste, Josh Warren and Gage Shatwell.

Interment will follow at Patton Cemetery.

Mary always greeted with a hug. We would talk to each other until my dept. boss gave me the evil eye at the Marion County Shirt Factory. Mary was a sweet lady. She will be missed.
