of Summit, AR
November 27, 1948 - December 3, 2022
Connie Ray (Wyler) Voth (just celebrated her 74th birthday) passed away Saturday, December 3, 2022 peacefully in her home in Summit, Arkansas.
Connie was born November 27, 1948 in Tonkawa, Oklahoma to Ernest and Wanna Loo (Chambers) Wyler. She graduated High School from Tonkawa, Oklahoma in 1967. She married Charles Voth in 1970 and during their 52 years of marriage they lived in many different states, including Oklahoma, Louisiana, Kansas and over 20 years residing here in Arkansas.
She had a great love for animals, especially horses and dogs, and on more than one occasion drove hundreds of miles in order to buy horses that many times were in dire health and needed extensive rehabilitation. On one such trip to Ohio with her daughter, Terri and granddaughter, Chelsea, they picked up a horse that had been starved and looked very poor, they would unload the horse periodically on the trip back to let him rest (as they weren't sure he would survive the trip home). They would stop at night, hoping people wouldn't pay attention to them and blanket the poor horse for fear of being charged themselves for animal mistreatment.
Over the years, she had not only raised Arabian horses, but Cocker Spaniels, German Shepherds and Miniature Schnauzer dogs as well.
She loved to craft with her daughter, Terri and some of her favorite things to do was crochet and do ceramics. Recently, Terri had gotten her started painting on projects she thought she would be too shaky to do and was amazed at the beautiful artwork she created by the end.
She and her husband, Charlie had many business/job adventures over the years, from a waterbed store and restaurants (where she made everything from scratch) including her famous, well-loved cinnamon rolls. At a time when they should have been slowing down, they decided to go to truck-driving school and see the country through the windshield of a semi as team truck drivers. At one point even having her own purple Western Star semi and driving solo while Charlie drove his own Kenworth.
Within this family dynamic the girls are known for not being the most graceful. Connie passed that gene down; if there was a hole in the ground or crack in the sidewalk, she could find it. This ultimately led to many trips, falls and laughs.
She loved her family time especially when all her grandchildren could get together. It would always include great food, loud laughter, pranks and many times involved water balloon fights or sometimes just water fights in the house.
One of her most special things to do was to set out on her front porch watching her bird feeders and her great-granddaughter, Bailey, grow and play. They would read books together, do puzzles and later play games on her phone.
She was always so proud of all her family's accomplishments and celebrated with them as they reached their individual successes and was quick to brag to her friends about all things the kids were doing.
Connie was a firm believer in her Lord and Savior and always ever-ready to stop and pray for someone with a need.
Her survivors include her husband of the home, Charlie; daughter, Terri Beard and husband, Earl of Bruno, AR; grandchildren, Amber and Steven Trahan of Yellville, AR, Kara and Cody Perry of Arkansas City, KS, Chelsea Wilson of Perry, OK, Tommie and Cole Birney of Wichita, KS, Ty Beard and fiance, Madison Burroughs of Pearsall, TX and everyone's favorite great-granddaughter, Bailey Trahan plus many nieces, nephews and other family members.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Richard & Quentin Wyler and sister, Bonnie Legg.
Honorary pallbearers will be Steven Trahan, Ty Beard, Cody Perry and Cole Birney.
